Every medication page on SimplMeds is built from the official drug label, and every page goes through a structured review process before it is published.

Where our information comes from

We start with the official prescribing information available through DailyMed, the National Library of Medicine’s database of FDA-approved drug labeling. We do not use other websites as sources, and we do not add medical advice of our own.

How we simplify it

Official drug labels are written for healthcare professionals, not patients. We use systems and processes designed to turn that information into language that is clear, accurate, and easier to understand — while preserving the important medical information in the original label.

Our simplification promise

When we simplify medication information, we always maintain the important medical facts and safety information from the original label.

That means:

  • Numbers stay exact. Doses, strengths, frequencies, time limits, and laboratory cut-offs are not rounded or changed.
  • Important information stays included. Warnings, boxed warnings, contraindications, and restrictions on who should take the medicine are preserved.
  • Warnings stay clear. Serious risks are not softened, minimized, or made to sound less important.
  • We don’t add information that isn’t in the label. Our content is based on the information in the official source.
  • Information stays consistent. We check the page as a whole to help ensure that different sections do not contradict one another.
  • The language gets easier, not the medicine less important. We simplify how the information is explained without simplifying away important medical facts or safety information.

If our review process identifies a problem, the content is not published until it has been reviewed and corrected.

What this means for you

Our goal is to give you medication information that preserves the important medical facts and safety information from the official label, while making it easier to read and understand.

SimplMeds does not replace your doctor or pharmacist. Always talk with your healthcare professional about your own treatment.

Always check the original

Every medication page links to the full prescribing information used as its source, so you can review the original information yourself.
